We average over 25 years of experience per member, and while we admit we have not seen everything, we have seen plenty. One thing we see often is the repeat of mistakes - usually opportunities lost.
Our core values:
- Knowledge shared is true knowledge. Knowledge retained and not shared is knowledge wasted.
- A good idea can be too late. We understand when a good idea can be used, and when it is too late to incorporate a good idea.
- It is better to be honest. We will be up front with you. We will tell you if we are qualified to perform a service, and if someone else is better suited to a particular task.
- We believe a happy client is vital to our success.
- We are willing to work with the universities. If we see talent, we are happy to inform you of our observations.
- Value has many forms. Improving a schedule, reducing an operating cost, reducing an operating risk, improving an operation, etc.
- There is no technical reason for something to be "too hard".
Our Key Members...
- John Westover is based in Melbourne. John has been an active chemical process engineer since 1981. His career has taken him from the gas fields of western Oklahoma, to the Rocky Mountains, and to the Arctic coast of Alaska before settling in Melbourne, Australia. His career has been a mix of working for operating companies and working for design companies, giving him a unique perspective of "both sides of the table". John is passionate about training, process integration, and using risk assessments as tools to generate profit.
- John Harley is based out of London. John has been a design chemical process engineer in the energy sector since 1985. His career has taken him to France, the Netherlands, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, Melbourne, Japan, Perth and New Plymouth. For the last 20 years he has worked on major oil and gas field developments from green field concept through to brown field expansions both on and offshore, fixed and floating production. From working in primary design contractors through to primary and tertiary oil companies he has had to tackle all levels of project work as a process engineer.
- Lan Ji is based in California. Lan has been a chemical process engineer in the oil and gas field. Her career has covered engineering, development, construction, and commissioning for both the operator and the contractor. Over the last 20 years, Lan has extensive experience in all aspects of engineering, ranging from Pre-FEED studies to operational debottlenecking projects. Her career has taken her from China to Australia, Netherlands, Indonesia, and now the USA. Lan also has one of the best work ethics of anyone you will ever meet.
- Sarah Wilford works out of the UK as a Chartered Environmental Engineer/Consultant. She has worked in the energy sector for twenty years with both engineering contractors and operators. Sarah's work has been mainly focussed around field development planning, pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Design. She has worked on many projects in the UK as well as Russia, Azerbaijan, Trinidad, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. Sarah's main areas of expertise are centred around Environmental Risk Assessments, Emissions Management, Environmental Impact Assessments and Best Available Technique Assessments.
- Ian Gibson has been working at the interfaces of Process, Control Systems, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering for almost 50 years. Based in Melbourne, he is a recognised expert in control systems, and is an active member of the ISO, Australian, and US Standards committees on process safety and various measurement techniques. Ian is also the author of several sections of Liptak's Instrument Engineers Handbook. Among his many credentials, Ian is a Life Member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (a Chartered Chemist and Certified Practicing Chemist), and his strong knowledge of chemistry is an excellent complement to his outstanding engineering skills. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Instrumentation, Control, and Automation Australia, a Senior Life Member of the International Society of Automation (ISA) a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, and a TÜV Rheinland Certified Functional Safety Engineer.
We look forward to working with you.
